A new MOOC course as a result of the participation of the Edul@b group in the European project EMMA

The MOOC courses (Massive Online Open Courses) have become a leading educational practice in today’s society: in addition to the contents of a traditional course, these courses provide an enriched environment through audiovisual and interactive resources and enable a stimulating online digital community for teachers, students and consultants.

That is why Edul@b has participated in the EMMA project, which has enabled an exciting educational experience that has developed a platform to host multiple European MOOCs and has allowed the distribution of free online courses in various languages.

Be digitally competent to live and coexist in the network society

One of the results of the Edul@b participation in the EMMA project has been the development of the course “Ser competente digital, para vivir y convivir en la sociedad en red “, which starts on November 16 and has been designed by Montse Guitert, Teresa Romeu and Marc Romero, teachers in the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences and members of the Edul@b group. In its development have also collaborated Gemma Abellán (teacher in the field of Digital Competences) and Carles Bruguera (member of the Edul@b group).

In the course are explored the contents on digital competence that are necessary to participate successfully in the network society, which are: fundamentals of digital technology, communication and online collaboration, digital citizenship, search and retrieval of digital information and preparation, presentation and dissemination of digital information. This MOOC will be taught in Spanish.
