Nella Escala Attends UNESCO MONDIACULT 2025 Conference in Barcelona

MONDIACULT 2025, meeting point between culture and education
Nella Escala, predoctoral researcher at the Edul@b Research Group, attended the MONDIACULT 2025 conference, promoted by UNESCO from September 29 to October 1, 2025 in Barcelona. MONDIACULT is the most important international meeting dedicated to cultural policies. The 2025 edition brought together thousands of participants to define the global roadmap for culture in the coming years.
The conference revolved around different topics related to culture and education. In this regard, Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO, presented the new Framework for Culture and Arts Education. This international framework defends an integrated vision of artistic and cultural education as a central axis of quality, inclusive and relevant education in the 21st century.
Within the framework of the meeting, spaces for reflection were also opened on issues such as public funding of culture, linguistic and cultural diversity, the role of educational institutions and, tangentially, the impact of AI on cultural production and mediation. You can watch the various sessions held during the conference again at the following link.
