Josep M. Duart Presents ETHE Journal at Global Smart Education Conference 2025 in Beijing, China
On 18th August 2025, the Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Education Technology in Higher Education, Josep M. Duart (Edul@b Research Group, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya), presented ETHE Journal at the Global Smart Education Conference 2025 in Beijing, China. Focusing on “Human-Machine Collaboration: Reshaping the Educational Ecosystem for the Future”, the annual conference was an extraordinary meeting point for researchers, practitioners and professionals from all over the world to foster global collaboration and networking, as well as exploring new pathways and exchange best practices in order to implement the smart education of the future.
This was the ideal context to present the International Journal of Education Technology in Higher Education. ETHE is a scientific journal of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) co-published with three leading international institutions: Dublin City University (DCU) in Ireland, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV) in Chile, and Guizhou University (GZU) in China.
Led by Edul@b research group members Josep M. Duart and Marc Romero, last year ETHE celebrated 20 years of publications with the goal of continuing to “offer a space for academics and practitioners to share their research and experiences. Contributing to the dissemination of educational theories, findings and results, research proposals, and experiences in the field of educational technology in higher education”.
In addition to ETHE 20th Anniversary, this year ETHE Journal has achieved outstanding results in the main international bibliometric indexes, becoming the number 1 journal in education according to the Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
