Conclusions of the EXCIITE Project Final Conference

On October 16th was held in Brussels (Belgium) the final conference of the EXCIITE Project titled: “European transformation roadmap: supporting the renewal of teaching professions”. The objective of the conference was to present the results achieved throughout the life span of the project, as well as establishing a place for discussion and present new opportunities for future projects. Montse Guitert and Isabella Riccò from Edul@b group participated in this event.

The event start with the opening speech of Chiara Bertolini (University of Modena and Reggio Modena) followed by the keynote speeches of Anne Bamford (evaluator of the EXCIITE Project, International Research Agency), Margherita Di Stasio (INDIRE Italian Institute for Documentation, Innovation and Educational Research) and Habil Marta Kowalczuk-Walędziak (University of Bialystok & ATEE).

Montse Guitert (Edul@b, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya) moderated the panel discussion on “How to Foster Innovative Pedagogy in Formal Education and Schools’ Programme?” with Habil Marta Kowalczuk (University of Bialystok & ATEE), Anna Weinrich (Global Student Forum), Giuseppe Mossuti (European Schoolnet) and Alessandra Landini (IC Manzini)

During the conference it was also presented the Hub for the Innovation of Teaching Professions by Lucia Scipione (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia) and Letizia Cappelli (Regio Children Foundation). A second panel discussion was moderated by Alessandra Landini (IC Manzini) on “Examples of Stimulating Creativity in the School Environment and Beyond” with Valeria Baresi (Istituto Coreutico Filelfo), Orsolya Endrödy (Eötvös Loránd University), Milena Mengoni (Lucatelli K14 School) and Cinzia Pennesi (Conservatorio “Pergolesi” di Fermo).

The future of education had an important role in the event, in particular the future of education policy. Axel Joder (Foundation of European Regions for Research in Education and Training) presented the recommendations of the EXCIITE Project in this regards, which led to the final panel discussion on the “Inputs for Teachers’ Policy” moderated by Claudio Dondi (Reggio Children Foundation) with the panellists Laura Landi (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia), Cécile Le Clercq (European Commission – DG Education, Youth, Sport and Culture) and Andrea Lapegna (Lifelong Learning Platform).

As a clousure for the conference attendants had the opportunity to live an immsersive experience led by Luis Villarejo (Immersium Studio):

EXCIITE is a project aiming at creating new learning opportunities for teachers by focusing on four main thematic areas. This process is only possible thanks to the creation of the EXCIITE Hub: a place where teachers can find inspiration, real life examples and theoretical studies for them to implement in the classroom. Our goal is to help teachers updating their knowledge in the areas of Inclusion, innovation, digitalisation and creativity.
