Edul@b participates in the CRISS H2020 Symposium

Marcelo Maina, member of the Edul@b group, participated in the “CRISS H2020 Symposium on Acquiring Digital Competence in the classroom – the experience of primary and secondary schools in Europe” held last November 14th 2019 in Heraklion (Crete).

The event was organised by the CRISS project, supported by the European Commission within the Horizon 2020 programme with the aim to share the major project’s outcomes after almost three years of intensive work.

Educators from all over Europe presented their and their students’ experiences, and best practices after leading a large-scale pilot, involving more than 40.000 students, 2.389 teachers, and 400 primary and secondary schools from all over Europe.

Maina chaired the session opened by Airina Volungevičienė, immediate past President of the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN), and dedicated to CRISS experiences carried out within Spanish schools.

The symposium brought together national and international education sector representatives, policymakers, researchers, and teachers, also with the aim to debate on the future of digital competence acquisition in the classroom, create synergies and exploring the opportunities for scaling up the project.

The 13th of November, after the face-to-face rehearsal, Maina also moderated a Focus Group with a group of teachers and facilitators who participated in the CRISS piloting phase. The Focus group enabled to gather valuable data on the success of the pedagogical approach implemented within the CRISS platform.
