Edul@b participates in the conference CECIIS 2017 organised by the Faculty of Organization and Informatics of the University of Zagreb

The 28th Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (CECIIS 2017) was held on September 27-29, 2017 in Varaždin, Croatia, at the Faculty of Organisation and Informatics, University of Zagreb.

On this occasion the Edul@b research group, represented by Lourdes Guàrdia and Marcelo Maina, presented a communication titled ‘Digital Competence Assessment System: Supporting teachers with the CRISS platform’ in the session ‘Education and Learning Analytics’ of the conference.

The presentation focused on the Digital Competence Assessment System (DC) for primary and secondary schools that Edul@b in working on under the European project H2020 CRISS (Demonstration of a scalable and cost effective digital-based digital learning infrastructure through the Certification of digital competences in primary and secondary schools).

The System is based on a DC operational concept, already validated by experts and users, that comprises 5 areas and 12 sub-competences with associated performance criteria and indicators, that have to guide the actors involved in the evaluation process.

Its implementation within the school curriculum will be based on the integration pedagogy approach. Evidences thus will be gathered by means of multiple methods and instruments through a set of Competence Assessment Scenario (CAS) addressed to assess digital competences in context.

DC Operational Concept and the Assessment System therefore have been presented as a robust standard from which to evaluate the digital competence and support the certification process.
