Start of the R&D project with the participation of Edul@b “How the best university teachers learn in the digital age: the impact of learning ecologies on the quality of teaching”

On last Tuesday 16th of May a meeting was held in La Coruña in order to start the activity on the R&D project: “How the best university teachers learn in the digital age: the impact of learning ecologies on the quality of teaching” (ECO4LEARN-HE), coordinated by Dra. Mercedes González Sanmamed (University of Coruña), with the participation of 6 other Spanish universities.

The UOC participates in the project through the Edul@b research group, with researchers Albert Sangrà, Lourdes Guàrdia and Nati Cabrera.

How the best university teachers learn in the digital age: the impact of learning ecologies on the quality of teaching

The ultimate goal of ECO4LEARN-HE is to improve the quality of education in higher education. From the identification of the processes of updating of the university teachers considered excellent and the repercussions on their forms of teaching, the project will try to identify exemplary models of professional development transferable to other teachers, as well as guidelines to optimise the training offers and, thanks to this, to promote an increase of the quality in the university.

Taking into account the characteristics of the current digital age, it will be taken as conceptual and operational framework the idea of learning ecology; understood as the set of contexts and elements, of diverse nature, with or without technological basis, that people use and manage for their training. This extends the research of the previous Eco4Learn project.
