Atanasi Daradoumis

PhD in Computer Science from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, Master of Science from the University of Illinois-USA and Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Thessaloniki-Greece.
Professor of Information Systems at the UOC since 1998; Member of the Academic Committee of the Doctorate Program in Education and ICT (e-Learning) of the UOC since 2018.
His research focuses on the areas of Educational Technology, e-Learning, Collaborative Learning, Emotional Intelligence, Affective and Adaptive Systems. He has supervised 15 doctoral theses (12 completed, 3 in progress). He has been awarded 3 research merits and advanced research accreditation (Titular Professor) by the AQU.
He has published more than 185 peer-reviewed publications, of which more than 90 are articles in JCR/Scopus indexed journals, and has been a member of the editorial board of several international conferences and journals.
He has led or participated in several regional, national and European e-Learning research projects. Among them are «COSACO: Software components for collaborative learning applications»; «GRIPEPEMICOLE: Grid and peer-to-peer middleware for cooperative learning environments»; Kaleidoscope Network of Excellence, Special Interest Group (SIG) «Computer support for collaborative learning (CSCL)»; «MosaicLearning: Collaborative, mobile, open source, standards-based and secure, contextual, individualized and conscious e-learning»; “Contributory Learning Systems (COLE)”; European research project ALICE (Adaptive Learning through Intuitive/Interactive, Collaborative and Emotional Systems).
